This is a direct copy of Abarai Renji from the title page of Chapter 173 of the Bleach manga. I thought it was cool looking and sexy looking. So I drew it. It's on 14"x17" bristol board. It was originally sketched (very lightly) in pencil, then inked in micron pen. Then I used a black Prismacolor marker for the pants, most of the tattoos, and the really dark shadows.

I think it's pretty. It took many hours of careful measurement to get it right. I showed my drawing teacher, and he thought it was actually an improvement on the original composition.

I've only read the first two books of Bleach- so I haven't seen Renji, but I already know he's drop dead hot... Tattoos...
